VALUE–
AED has worked with Pianodrome since 2018, providing engineering support for all of their temporary raking seating units and art installations, including at the Royal High School in Edinburgh (for Hidden Door), Ocean Terminal in Edinburgh and The Brodrick Hall in Leeds and in the city of Leeds more widely (Leeds Piano Festival).
This project was Pianodrome’s first permanent installation, this time at their new permament home in St Oswald’s church in Bruntsfield, Edinburgh.
The challenging project involved formal structural analysis of the complete seating wedges which are comprised fully of recycled piano componenets, down to the level of the screws used to hold the parts together, to achieve compliance with the building regulations.
